IMAS is pleased to announce that Introduction to Instruction (I-2-I) is now available online for £40.

This practical foundation course is designed for black belts who are beginning to teach, assist with classes or develop their instructional skills. It helps you turn your technical knowledge and experience into clear, purposeful instruction that supports learning.

What you will learn

Across six teaching modules, you will explore how to understand learners’ starting points, plan purposeful lessons, explain and demonstrate techniques clearly, organise practice, give constructive feedback, check learning and reflect on your own teaching.

Study at your own pace

Allow approximately 3–4 hours to work through the online lessons, martial arts examples, activities, revision checks and lesson-planning exercise. The course includes a 20-question final examination with an 80% pass mark. Successful learners receive an IMAS completion certificate and badge.

Your pathway to the IMAS Martial Arts Instructors Award

Introduction to Instruction is the gateway to the IMAS Martial Arts Instructors Award. After successfully completing I-2-I, you can apply for the Award. This longer, more detailed programme develops your ability to plan, deliver and assess martial arts training independently. Successful Award candidates are entered into the IMAS Register of Qualified Instructors.

I-2-I provides introductory online learning and does not include an observed practical teaching assessment. Completing the course does not itself confer the full Award or entry to the Register.

Enrol today for a one-off payment of £40.

After completing I-2-I, email admin@imas-online.org for Award enrolment information and to discuss entry requirements.
